Supported
bike tour of the Italian Rivieras and the southern Alps.
Ride
the 'best' bits of the Italian Rivieras, luggage-free with a
support vehicle and the knowledge that at the end of each day's
ride, you'll be staying in some of the more charming hotels in
the Rivieras more lively seaside resorts.
Description: You ride your bike
in your own group of friends, or join up with others for a tour
of the Italian and French Rivieras, plus the highlights of the
southern Alps. Follow our daily self-guided route notes with
suggested best roads and towns to pass through, and meet up with
everyone else at the overnight stops we pre-book in advance -
selected for their charm, biker friendliness and 'en-route' location.
Each daily route has 1 or 2 option points at which you can choose
to reduce or increase the number of miles covered during the
day - with start and end points being the same for everyone.
Ideal: For those who want to make a memorable biking tour,
pretty much under their own steam, but with all the hard work
of organising done for you. Just pack your bike luggage for the
journey down by train to the south of France and continue thereafter
'luggage free' until the end of the tour. Each night you'll find
your luggage waiting for you at your hotel. You are able therefore
to ride each day with only a tank bag or small rucksack for essentials. |

Extend your trip Stay an extra week and enjoy a relaxed
week riding around Tuscany and the Island of Elba. Enquire for
more details and price. |
Please note: 3 evening meals during the week are
gourmet dinners, typical of the region. You should be reasonably
fit and used to 5 or more hours in the 'saddle' each day. Hotels
used are typically characteristic of the area, are of a very
good standard (all with en-suite and off-road parking) and near
to the historic centres of the resort towns you will be staying
in. Our support van service is for transporting your luggage
between hotels and is not a 5 star recovery service. In the event
of a 'break-down', we pick you up, take your bike to the nearest
bike shop and do everything we can to get you back 'on the road'
again. However, we do request you take out full recovery insurance
in the case of a major break-down which requires full vehicle
recovery transportation back to England.
* Prices based on 2 people sharing a double/twin room
in the overnight hotel stops, otherwise a single supplement applies.
** Prices based on 2 people sharing a double/twin room
in the overnight hotel stops and 4 people sharing a 4-berth sleeping
compartment on the train between Calais and Nice. These are the
maximum prices that should be expected until 2006 ferry and train
prices are released. Exact price depends on ferry and train departure
times chosen. A supplement can be paid for those wanting a 2-berth
sleeping compartment with toilet and shower. |
